The Moon orbits the Earth in about 27 days, in the same direction the Earth spins. So it rises on average about 50 minutes later each day. On some days it does not rise or set at all: a "lunar day" lasts about 24 h 50 min.
From the south we see the Moon "upside down" compared with the north. The lit part of a waxing Moon is on the right in Madrid or Istanbul and on the left in São Paulo or Buenos Aires. We draw the Moon with the correct orientation for each city.
A full moon that happens near perigee, the point of the orbit closest to Earth. We use the most common definition: the Moon is within the closest 10% of that month's orbit. It looks up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter than a full moon at apogee.
